For some (my husband included) the Steak Pit was the place to go as kids. When he heard they were opening again within the Bistro on Avenue he quickly booked a reservation. I had been once at the original location, I didn't get the hype but the food was decent. My ribs (half rack) were really good, the salad as it was before, is just iceberg with a tomato on top, I don't eat tomato but added some pickles, radish and olives from the relish tray to the salad, it was pretty good. My baked potato was half rotten inside which I didn't notice until I had eaten half of it, but I had had enough so it wasn't a big deal. Sixties atmosphere with delicious food. Steaks are good and the garlic bread is addictive. Not overly pricy .Have been coming here for years. Sad to hear they are closing down I'm a few weeks. Maybe they'll open another location ? They should. No good steak place on Avenue Rd.

Been coming here since the 80's, still love it for the casual feel, great food, and quick service. This unfortunately may be my last time as after God only knows how many years it's closing up before the end of the year.
